About This Project

For this project I was commissioned to make two matching living room side tables in the Art Nouveau style. The tables will complement and tie together the Art Nouveau and Hollywood Regent furniture in the owner’s living and dining room.

Art Nouveau is a style of decorative art, architecture, and design prominent in western Europe and the US from about 1890 until World War I and is characterized by intricate linear designs and flowing curves based on natural forms. If you’ve ever been to Paris, the Paris Metro entrances are perfect examples of Art Nouveau. 

The customer contacting me because I make furniture with curves. Art Nouveau is the epitome of curves, and these tables will be fun design and construction challenge.
